Hey there NG,

I put up a preview of a track titled "Dead Parrot" asking you all whether or not to upgrade to a full track. Everyone said yes actually.... so here's an unfinal mix of the full song.

Critique composition if you like, but most of all I just hope you guys enjoy the tracks style.

Cheers!

Oh I see. o.O

I really liked this track, but only upon a second listen. The first time I kept expecting some sort of insane explosion, instead just got that pretty laid back Dubstep bits. On Second time through I could groove with it much easier. I think this is a genre that is going to be looked back upon and people will go "what the hell was that", I love it.

cool beans

awesome, love the bassline and all the cuts and soundeffects and stuff, could change the wobble just a tad to make it sound "brighter" rase the high eq a bit, what vst did you make it with sounds cool?

overall a great song. very orignal i <3 it

and btw can you review this song of mine?

Pretty good

I really loved the melodies and everything, but I felt like the bass parts weren't heavy/loud enough

Breed responds:

Well it's all very balanced. Maybe you have speakers that downgrade my usual low mid-bassline. This doesnt have a sub bass to it so maybe the lack of power is gettin to ya, but the bass definitely does stick out the most. Anyways thanks for the review!

Cheers!

Soundin a bit empty at times

My biggest gripe is the emptiness of the song, especially when you've got the bass going. I'm thinking it needs more low-end. The rest is pretty much perfect. I love when the pads and stuff come in, they sound spot on.
Keep making stuff, man.

Breed responds:

Yea with that chaotic of a lead/bassline I found it hard to incorporate too many other melodies, but you are right, it needs something....Thanks for the review man. I have to get back into being active with stuff (full time college student + lots of behind the curtains work going on lately).

Cheers!

a little shakey

this doesn't sound exactly like dubstep, but i know it is. the bassline it has is just different than others, its not one of those phat rock-your-melon basslines.

this really is good, but the frequency of the bass seems to be a bit to high, doesnt sound like bass, just some slow type of sine/synth.

though i didn't let that deter me from enjoying the song, this is a good song. hit up a lower bassline and see how that works :)

Very good job otherwise. Every dubstep artist has their own style and what they like to hear, so if this is your style, stick to it. It does sound good.

Breed responds:

Thanks for the review theafro.

The bassline sits at a low-mid fundamental intentionally. This is to let the power of the sub-kick come through fully on the track giving it a more powerful percussion background. This also allows speakers of all types to effectively hear the bassline as apposed to sitting it too low and restricting the songs potential to listeners with better equipment. I might add that this track still drops really hard on a system with a sub.
Anyways I respect your critique and maybe I can investigate a wee bit of lower end EQ work. Thanks again.

Cheers!
