So I had been away from submitting songs on Newgrounds for a while. I've been pretty busy with school and all, but lately I had some good time to do osme recording, and I ended up with this baby here.

I had a really interesting inspiration that helped this too. So I did all of the stringed tracks assembled upon Riffworks T4 from the Line 6 Pod Farm.

Also, I have lyrics written for this song, although I haven't any vocals on the track, so maybe someone may submit vocals or something as a collab, I don't know. PLease rate and leave criticism, thanks!

I like this

Definitely something to groove to. Production notes aside, this is pretty good. I like most of your lead work, although it can get a little indulgently and sloppy, but to each his own. What do you use for your drums? Are they programmed or real?

Ryan-of-the-Metal responds:

Well, my lead skills are heavily influenced by Alice in Chains and Metallica, so that's probably why they sound cool. But, at the same time, I also need to cut back on the distortion too, because, as you said, it gets sloppy or muddled sometimes throughout submissions.

The drums are in the program that I reccomended to you lol. Riffworks T4, if you get the CD demo as opposed to the downloadable demo, it comes available with craploads of loops, and eash loop has all sorts of interesting customisations. So, they were once recorded, but technically programed. :)

just like bad man said - panning your tracks will give any song a whole other dimension. this song has a couple of really interesting passages, and it all sounds pretty good. but i'd probably try to bring out the drums slightly. they feel a bit drowned in the mix. spend some time with this tune, and it'll turn out fucking incredible \m/

Ryan-of-the-Metal responds:

The reason the drums are drowned out is because I forgot to turn the volume up on those bad boys. It was only one step, but I suppose it makes all the difference, huh? Anyways, thanks for the criticism! I really look foward to more.

I tried to help it out...

This has a ball load of potential. The only thing I can truly suggest is panning your tracks. Record the guitars twice. (Rhythm) and pan one ALL the way left and and the other all the way right. That will avoid the whole middle cluster of frequencies. Sounds pretty cool man.

Ryan-of-the-Metal responds:

Bad-Man, thank you so much for reviewing. I guess it it does have potential, but I didn't have mixing headphones, that's why they're not panned, but next time, I'll remember that! If it sounds pretty good to you, then I guess, I don't suck too bad.
