Firstly, kudos on making a few of the synths yourself, always very impressive when someone's done some DIY and still managed to come up with very good production values.

0:00-Really awesome, epic start; you can tell 15 seconds in this is gonna be a good track
0:18-Nice entry of the drums; think the snare maybe cuts through the texture a little, but it's not that much of a deal. Nice cymbals at 0:35ish.
0:52-Either you're changing things very subtly, or have somehow made 56 seconds of the same thing sound nonrepetitive due to a drum beat. Whichever one it is, it works very well.
1:06-Interesting break into the more techno-like sounds, it's cool that you mixed them in with the sounds that preceded.
1:33-Think the cymbals could have been louder, but they break...
1:40 ...into an interesting change of pace. After having that choir/pad sound going through for so long, having it suddenly sort of gated makes for a very interesting change of feel
2:15-Very abrupt, but effective transition into what seems like a totally new section for 8 seconds. Structurally this perhaps isn't incredibly intricate, but it is interesting and adds a fair bit of variety when it wants to.
2:30ish? Like the additions of the flute, kind of taking the place of the choir/pad sound and giving a more minimal feel.
2:44-Awesome break. 'nuff said. ;D
3:48-Love how from here to the end it's essentially just that main theme over and over again with those subtle variations here and there. Works very well in itself.

What can I say; great production values, nice theme, very atmospheric...definitely keep going, you've got a lot of talent here.

+1 audio review

-Ah, it's quite refreshing to see someone put some serious time and effort into an audio piece that they submit here. While most people spend a couple of days and post stuff up you actually took months which I will applaud you on. In the long run all of that time was well spent in my opinion. This is really a work of art. The sound quality is quite commendable and is some really high quality. It makes all of that mastering time pay off. It's not the easiest thing to do but it can make all the difference between a song that sounds just ok and a song that sounds great. While the overall song may be good a lot of the time people fail to see that fine details are just as big of a part of the song they create.

-While the structure of the song is ok the way it is now it leaves a lot to be desired from a design standpoint. It's very monotonous and very rarely does it live up to the lustrous intricacies of what it could of been. The beginning starts off strong with several bass kicks while slowly mixing in more percussion as the melody flows but it stays at an almost stagnant pace for a whole minute. I felt that the beginning could of been sped up and been progressively faster in the buildup stages of the song.

-When you came up to the first real song transition at about 1:05 I thought you took an odd turn with this by going to a completely electronic fast paced melody. It was in no way a bad choice and it suprised me that you didn't drop the sound completely but intertwined the two sections nicely. It was also that slight of speed that this song needed to pick it up into another level of pace. Supplemented later on with more blended drums and cymbals just increased the enjoyability of this section of the song and finished off the first half nicely. Like I said earlier it definitely could of been sped up more in the very beginning and truncated the song some.

-I loved how you started to bring the percussion to the forefront as the song progressed. It made it more multi-dimensional and had more substance than a lot of songs i've listened to as of late. I like being able to see different instruments show themselves out and not constantly be in the background of the melody. Everything was kept in check nicely and that's what the mastering is all about. Let's check it...Rewind. I honestly was not expecting that at all. It was a nice use of sound effects into the mix of things. It brought back some similar elements to earlier in the song but it didn't make things too repetitive.

-Overall, you ended up putting together something of great quality. While it isn't the best it's still really high up there. It's a big leap considering that you made a great portion of the synths yourself and everything blended together nicely. The biggest part of this that put a smile on my face was the fact that this even provoked emotional atmosphere. It makes everything seem better even though everything around you might not be the best. I'll keep my ears out for you since you have the potential to really start making some outstanding music in the near future.

great!

this has a nice mix... a little over the top at the start, but gets better as it goes!

UncleSqueezins responds:

I also agree that the beginning is a bit extreme. Thanks for reviewing!

Nice job!

Nice track, you can really feel the hard work you put into it.
But I must agree with Kajenx. It's too ... "crunchy" on the edges. There's a lack of clarity in your sound that prevents me from enjoying it to the fullest. On a rythmic point of view, your drums line was god. In the last moments ofthe song when you make it stand out, it was really amazing, maybe there should have been more breaks with this kind of sound iI don't know.
But, that's just my opinion and this is still above much of what you can hear around here. I'll keep following your work this is getting interesting.

Kinda cool

It was nice, smooth and trancy, but the mix seemed kinda flat or dull. Overall it seemed over-compressed or distorted which gave it a really low-res sound.

Keep it up though, it was well written, I think, just needs some better mixing.

UncleSqueezins responds:

Really? Mixing is a problem? Hmm...not sure about that. However, I listened to your music and you seem to be a lot more professional than me, so I'll go back and check the mixing.

Thank you for the review! I feels awesome to have a multi-talented artist like yourself review my work! :D
