Well, it's been a few weeks but I'm back! :)

I've been super busy learning Propellerheads' new software, Record, and how to get the most out of it. Ended up having to go out and buy a new computer just so I could use it. :P My shitty lil' laptop couldn't run the damn thing. Lol. :D

Anyways, I've been eagerly lapping up everything regarding Record and how to translate my Reason knowledge into Record and it's been quite succesful. It was a bit of a struggle at first as it just seemed like there was -so- much more to know, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

I would -absolutely- recommend Record+Reason to anyone out there. If you just want to play or if you're a serious professional musician, this combo is superb.

As usual, please rate / review / enjoy!

This is groovin!

I feel happy. I feel refreshed. The world passes by as I lay aside with ecstasy. Good tune man. Keep doing your thing.

My kind of music!

Very clean and "headnodic" tune. My only critique is that the overall EQ feels a bit too bright to me... not as much low foundation to balance things out. Other than that it's a great song! Definitely adding to favs. :)

durn responds:

thanks smiley. some other people have felt the same. I probably should've thickened up my kick a bit to solve that problem. I may yet still do that. :) I kinda wanted it punchy but I should perhaps change the tone throughout the track to lend a little more oomph.

thanks for the critical review. :)

Saddening...

So, I absolutely love the chill style of music that you make. Your control of the effects and note velocities drive me insane. You take such a chill beat and do so much with it. Lots of variety, and the sounds go well together. There's always something new to enjoy every set of measures. I give it a 10

durn responds:

:D thanks a lot, bob. very encouraging words, indeed! nice to hear someone pointing out the finer details. :)

nice work

I love the way it eases into the rhythm. It's like an unanswered cry to a long lost memory. I really wish I had my headphones with me instead of listening through crappy laptop speakers, heh.

durn responds:

aye, I was kinda thinking it's almost like a system reboot at the transition to the break/bridge and a spaceship launching off at the peak of the build. to be in space is a dream we all share, I think. :)

thanks for the listen and your thoughts on the piece. :)

Fresh & Relaxing

Yes, this is indeed a very fresh song. I like the nice synthecisers, and the melodies they play. When I started hearing this I thought "mmhh, .." and when the break or bridge at ~ 1:00 came I just listened quietly. At about 2:00 this song is getting so danceable. Nice work, keep doing this.

durn responds:

:) I certainly will! Thank you for the listen and review. Couldn't agree with ya more, definitely went for a progressive approach with the song. :)
