wooga

The guitar was very gritty, real, and a bit sloppy, which is the only right way to play blues or rock in my taste. but I'd say that you need to work on your string bending a bit. The solo has this drunken vibe to it, which is great, because blues is drinking music. XD

The vocal effects are pretty nice, but the singing itself... I felt like the vocals needed more oomph behind them. Like, you seem really restrained, like you don't want to sing at full force. Hah

Bass and Drums pretty solid, they do the job, nothing outstanding.

I like the part between 10-13 seconds in that you also hear near the end. Adds to that drunken vibe I get to the whole song.

dr-vibe responds:

haha, thanks. i've only been playing guitar 2 1/2 years, which is why it's so sloppy =P
i do have to hold back while singing, because there i got people all over my place. =x

and the secret to the drunken feeling..............................

you know what you need?

a band to play with!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what you do is worth going on.
as i am the drummer of my band, i cannot tell you too much about riffs and so on,
but i think your composing is well, your sound is good,
so keep up your work, and seek for some co-players:
cause the best ideas can get much better in interaction with friends.
good luck to you

dr-vibe responds:

thank you. i do need a band, but a band is hard to find around here. i tried starting two, but both failed because nobody in my music scene wants to play blues =x

haha awesome

this was excellent my brotha. Couple of things.

Guitar: Good Riffs. Take more liberty with the soloing though. Let that shit loose.
Bass: Awesome walking groove. Felt it worked perfectly and needed no changes.
Drums: Add more fills for example 0:46 - 0:50 felt a little empty and an abrupt pause.

One more thing, thanks for the great review. Loved your song. keep working hard

nice

nice man! i love writing blues stuff, it helps mellow your mind out... love it.. my gear doesn't really allow me to record it though :( i have all high gain equipment!

Lovin the guitar in this, man!

dr-vibe responds:

high gain as in...? high gain is never an issue for me. high-output pickups? roll down your volume knob. high gain amp? try turning down the gain/distortion or rolling off on the treble and bass. they also sell these tiny vox ac30 headphone amps that plug straight into the guitar. instead of plugging headphones into the output, you can take a cable from it to your computer or recording device. what i used here was an ac30 (a real one :O) and a generic tube screamer pedal. also, if you only have humbuckers, try using both at the same time. that fills out the tone, leaving less space for unwanted gain.

Good one

I really like the guitar :). It got a really nice tone. The sound quality is also good, but.. the one thing that bothers me is the vocals. It's off sometimes and u make some false notes. But the rest is great :)

I see that u want help with singing. I could help u with that :P have been singing for 6 years now and would love to help you :)

Just tell me if u want my help ;)

dr-vibe responds:

that's cool, thx. i have a vocal teacher, who i wouldn't even sing like this without, haha. but if you have any tips for me, i'd appreciate any help =)
and if you want to record vocals on a song for me, message me and i'll see what we can work out =P
