I wanted to create a song that transitioned from nice piano, into one of my usual electronic songs. So I did. Here is the result.

Used my Yamaha Portable Grand NP-80 for the piano at the start (gotta love it) and then I used my Waldorf Blofeld for everything else. Really glad I did as well, frickin' awesome synth! Listen to this all the way through please, and PLEASE review it! :D I never get any reviews so I'd love to know how I am getting along! This song is dedicated to my friend Sigourney's hamster, Joey, who passed away while I was writing this song.

Deserves more than a 10.

Really nice job! I love the intro piano. If the whole song was that, I would still give you a 10. But the trance part is like a car to your keys...amazing song dude.

Thanks a lot! Much appreciated :D

Rather nifty

It took me a listen or two, but I really enjoyed this. Like a lot of your work it's the kind of music that doesn't push itself out of the background but makes the feet tap, plus the distant chords way off in the background give it a really good open feeling. The raw, unprocessed sound makes it better, somehow -- I wouldn't expect it to, but it's a refreshing change. I don't think a lot of people on NGA use hardware synthesizers.

The start is indeed a little bit dodgy, since you have occasional tempo which are most noticeable when your synth plays along with the piano. The occasional off-tempo note and the mono-channel sound are obvious complaints, but your soundcard's FUBAR, so I can understand that. I didn't really like the ending, though... it seemed to drop off too soon and the melody went a little haywire. (Was that intended?)

Also re: your sound card issues, Amazon.co.uk seems to have decent prices on the M-Audio you were considering.

...you wouldn't happen to be interested in some sort of collab, would you?

BatesyBates responds:

Yeah, a lot of problems in my studio at the moment :D I haven't been making music too long though, and as you said soundcard FUBAR :P hopefully whenever I finally get this M-Audio, I will be able to address some issues. And yes, I would be interested in a collab, that sounds great! :D

Really nice intro and suprising turn

I like these songs that get you off guard.
I would make the first sound a bit smoother to sooth you into the song and then turn raw.

9/10 5/5

Please return the favor on my new song: I wanna know ( dance mix )

Impressive

I was really quite impressed with this song. I was a bit sketchy on how you were going to make the transition when I first started listening, but you pulled it off quite well.

I can't really think of very much to add about critiquing the song, to be perfectly honest with. I think everything fit together quite well.

Good job.
