the tune...
it has a nice, catchy tune to it, but very sad at the same time. kind of makes you think about how bad life was.
I think it could have been a little better with some more heavy drum beats to it, but that just my opinion :D
This piece was made accidentally more than on purpose. The original chord started from an earlier project but this was a slower version I wanted to make but never got to... I hope you enjoy the upbeat parts and the small change near the middle where a new theme smashes into the old one, and then the revival of the old theme up by the low brass and handed back to the strings.
Think of the Feudal age- when people such as farmers were drafted into growing and poorly equipped armies that regularly fought. The beginning and the end are reminders of the place where the soldier came from and the middle is the 'battle' persay. As you can see, the theme change is dramatic, for he has little time to prepare for the horrors of war... but in the end, peace always prevails and he goes back to farming quietly.

The early Middle Ages were a time of much sadness and death. Plagues, invaders, and thousands of fighting warlords really were not much fun for the common peasants. I would add more heavy drum, but I would fear to outdo the main melody.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
