"Pretty hip man"

date: June 29, 2009

Not bad dude. Coming up with some pretty hip ideas, but I think this song could go more along the lines of Funk. Very smooth for Funk, and I think you could "dirty" the song up a little. For starters, probably work with the drum kit a little and mix it up a little more. this tune would really benefit with a live drummer. Try taking the beat off of the more 1 and 3 feel, and throw on a dirty snare beat on a more 2 and 4 feel. You have open hi-hat going on in every quarter note and that takes away a lot of the funkiness that you could be adding. The guitar is very hip, and the piano is a nice compliment. But I think this song is too hip to be called Smooth Jazz. Revisit it and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. Don't stoop to the elevator music, I can tell you've got more potential than that. Get in touch with a percussionist who knows what he's talking about and you've got yourself a hip track if you add a little to it.

"Meh"

date: October 17, 2007

Doesn't get interesting until the electric guitar breaks off into it's own thing.

"Recognized"

date: September 4, 2007

The intro is very like the GTA3 Theme! I thought it was the theme untill the main body kicked in....

Its actually a really nice track, it would work well with a deep reverb and brushes.

"Some nice Improv Ideas!"

date: July 23, 2007

You got some real good ideas, strong improv conception with jazz! If you played with a live band it could be even better. The only beef I have with it that kind of tainted the experience listening to it was that some of the rythem I heard during the solo sounded really off to me, like you were playing outside some of the beats. If you could smooth that out you would sound like you are much more in control.

"Groovy"

date: July 20, 2007

I can get down to this, man. Really great guitar work, and overall the tune has a groovy feel. It got a little repetitive though, in terms of the chord progression, I thought; if you were to throw in a bridge and another section it would be an awesome listen. Keep up the good work.
