All Real Instruments. I(we) wrote this during a very stale period in my life. The song came together fairly quickly over the course of a few weeks. It follows the soft verse/loud chorus formula I dig so much in 90's bands. The pedal effect used on the guitar during the verse is Electro-Harmonix small clone, the same effect used by Nirvana in Come as you are, though mine is tweaked a little differently. I appreciate any honest reviews. Thanks.

Lyrics -

I think I'll lay here awhile
Pool my dreams like bile
You turn your eyes in on me
I'll give you a big toothy smile

Alright I'm going away

I think I found my Treble
I push and pull the levers
My speakers shoot fire
That's how we heat eachother

The bass is tasting sour
More Obscure by the hour
A girls priced right at twenty
But you and me together are too many

Sulking at the midway store

Ass Kicking Chorus!

Reminiscent of Nirvana and a little Pavement in some ways.

Gotta have the treble, or they'll be trouble.

Calm, and happy

nice job, it's all calm in the beggining and then it explodes but in a very smoothe and refreshing way, quite original, keep up the nice work. Personal opinion, but i think the drums aren't loud enought, can't hear everything. But good job.

Agreed! We ended up re-recording the tune in a professional studio last summer; once our band raised enough money from shows. Glad ya dig it

good but the voice

Everything sounded good but at the beginning your voice sounded like johnny cash. it was like you were talking and not singing but when you got louder it was better but still enjoyed it.

Top for a reason

ALMOST PERFECT.
(I'm a music critic, don't expect a 10 from me) but this is amazing, the only thing is, the guitars could have had a bit more distortion during the chorus. I mean, other than that, it's flawless. the chorus from the small clone is amazing. great job guys

great lyric

DreamsfromGin responds:

I do agree with your distortion complaint! We didn't have any cash to get into a decent recording studio so this was all done on the cheap and I wasn't able to double up on the distortion. We ended up re-recording this tune in a more professional studio this last summer and it'll be out on our new album.

In fact, your review encouraged me to release a new song to newgrounds today off our forthcoming album. It's right up grunge alley.
