I planned a while ago to record an E.P. of re-done old songs. It never went far but this is one of the tracks. It's trance and metal in harmony creating something of an emotional epic. I had to destroy the quality as usual in order to fit it onto here, but it's still listenable.

I do plan to do vocals for it one day, but if anyone wants to take a shot at it, they're welcome to. It follows quite a simple Verse/Bridge/Chorus structure for the first 2 and a half minutes.

So anyway, tell me what you think, I'm interested to here about this one.

UPDATE: 06/02/10 (Yeah, I'm English so it's d/m/y): Re-recorded guitars and bass. Modified some of the riffs slightly.

Once again, quality is raped so you can download a sexy 256kbs version at

Oh and check me out on YouTube at turningWeHearLarks

UPDATE: 27/02/10: Album is nearly done, shall be updating this with vocals (hopefully) tomorrow. Watch the new video blog about this song and the new album here: tch?v=6BPWFyc3_D8

UPDATE: 28/02/10: Vocals added. Album is nearly done, I'll post a download link here when it is (which should be Tuesday).

UPDATE: 03/03/10: ALBUM FINISHED! Download Scattered Fragments of a Past Forgotten, a collection of old songs by me re-recorded, including this song as well as 5 others, for free from here: /album/62448

Did the world turn on its head while I was sleeping?
You held me up so high
All those opportunities, suddenly the last one's leaving

So many promises, you gave the world to me
You told me I was yours, why couldn't I see?
So many promises, you threw them back at me
How could you ruin us? Now you mean nothing to me

I gave it all to you, you promised me the sky, then tore it all away
How much was a lie?
I gave it all for you, I left my friends to die
You ruined me and now I'm left behind

Almost a year now, since I saw your smile
You lost me in your eyes, I can't believe that you're gone
You'll never be the one

How could you take my life and leave it all as ash?
This cycle won't end, my end by broken glass
Broken glass

great job

a cross between the techno and metal genres, niiiiicccee good job bro, bout time someone mixed the two, nothing better then a cross between prodigy and demon hunter. FREAKING AWSOME JOB 10/10 FOR NOW AND FOREVER

Jakisdead responds:

Thanks man! Ahaha I like the Prodigy/Demon Hunter concept! XD

Thanks for the 10! :D

not that good

this song belongs in the techno section more than heavy metal,1 it more guitar and drums,2 too many things done by a machine

Jakisdead responds:

Well, if I'd put it in the Techno section, I would have got people saying the opposite. If you want less 'machine'-based metal, check out my newer songs.
