The City of Endless Lights

This is a song i originally composed on guitar and then transformed it into a piano song, with a few extra frills added.

I made sure I took some time on the dynamics of the song, including stereo and note velocity, but i kept it quite mellow to appeal with the theme of the song.

I hope you enjoy my ambient piece I call " The City of Endless Lights"

Thanks

Endless lights on the horizon.

This song gives me a relaxed feeling, because of the amount of echoes.
Perhaps that symbolises the sound that bounces of from the sky scrapers as you travel in the city of endless lights.
The high tones make me imagine of all the lights that shine on the horizon.

There are not a lot of different instruments involved, only a piano.
You might want to have put a bass in it or have the lower tones of the piano come out more.
Because of that it now feels a bit 'flat', which can be good but you have put lot's of 'empty spaces' in your song.
For example, ~0:53, it seems like the actually song is only starting there, until ~1:25 where there is again a pause.
Because of all those pauses the song is missing a bit of a climax, and again it feels 'flat'.

A good song, but just not one of my favorites

Well, this clearly isn't one of my favorite songs...
The thing is, I really can't say this song is bad, it's not bad at all. The song is well structured, even if certain echos were kinda wierd... The instruments are all well played. But I personally did not like the melody and most of all the feeling it expressed... I really didn't like that feeling, no offense, but I guess that's just my taste, I guess I never liked those kind of emotinal piano solos...
So I'll just skip right onto the scene:
It's more like a bunch of archive films taking place in the 19th century, put together, of hundreds of people, who decided that they would construct brand new buildings and infra-structures. The old film follows people climbing the buildings interior structure, taking materials up in the air, putting them together. More and more, buildings are being built, modern buildings, the city is changing...
The citizens of that city unit in order to create what they call will be "the greatest city ever built".
Hope that suits you,

after i'm not the only one who thinks that it sounds like maple story, what a dream music... maybe i'll do some for myself........ youre my inspiration!

Which city would this be

I'm trying to picture which city on Earth this could be - Obviously not New York, as it's already got a few of its own, while the Classical Genre doesn't really fit with modern cities like there are in America. Sydney is a possibility, with the harbour bridge and the Opera House, but possibly a little too modern again. I'm ruling out place like Tokyo and I think this has got to be heading for Europe, with places like Berlin, Munich, Paris and London.

I think that there is certainly a good background here for a piece that would suit being attached to a piece of time lapse photography of one or another of these cities, without the lights going out at all during this time.

The higher notes here in this piece could be reminiscent of the snows that have hit recently, so I can see places that are highly suited to this, especially as the lights increase even more, with the snow to reflect them back into the sky.
