A piano solo from the album we've been working on. This is the first, theres also a part 2 that isn't finished yet. Pretty simple.

Not piano - keyboard

Sorry, but I can't award full marks to something that claims to be what it isn't - there are a lot of much better programs out there that will allow you to make a much better sounding piano.

There isn't much of a beat to carry the song - add more of the lower, bass notes that the piano can come up with and then from that you can carry the tune forwards. It's a nice stepping stone to the real thing, but it needs some good work to carry it forwards.

your entitled to your opinion, but i think that is slightly unfair. theoritcally i could have written the best song in the world and you would have downmarked because of the name? i just picked an instrument under the piano section on FL and started writing, thats piano enough for me.

I agree with my peers the instrument your using does not sound like a piano,
the other major problem is the tune doesn't have enough variation, and gets boring quick.

It's not the worse thing I've heard but it gets really annoying after a while...

Not really a piano

This doesn't really sound like a piano to me, sounds like a mix between a xylophone and a synth put together and that doesn't add up to a piano. If this is a piano then what kind and model is the piano or program you're using? Asking since sometimes programs mislabel sounds as others and this one isn't a piano.

However I will say this sounds rather simple and nice, not a piano but it sounds quite nice.

Nice, but doesn't sound like a piano

Yeah, it sounds very strange for a piano, but the composition is nice anyway.
I especially like the second part (that starts around 32 seconds into the song). The rhythm here is very catchy and it just sounds nice in general.

However, while this is supposed to be a piano solo you could still add some more instruments. The piano would be the lead insturment so the name "piano solo" or "piano interlude" would still hold true, but at the same time you would give the listener something more to listen to.
In my opinion a piano solo only works if the instrument does indeed sound like a piano, which isn't the case in this piece.

Doesn't Sound Like A Piano. . .

I really don't see how this is called piano solo. It sounds way different. It was alright, if you used a different instruments it would sound a lot better.

What do you use for composing?
