Lost in a landscape is a minimalist composition written for two pianos and string
trio. This piece is based on the F lydian mode which provides a sense of
openness and freedom. I have always wanted to compose a piece that could
capture the vastness and beauty of the country side. In the beginning, the piece
starts off slow with the piano playing 5ths, depicting a very serene landscape with
birds flying and wind gently blowing. Mid way into the piece, the tempo picks up
and the listener is swept through vast grasslands and over rolling hills. Towards
the end, the landscape becomes rugged which can be heard by the
percussiveness of the instruments. After meandering, we come back to smooth
terrane, bringing back some familiar motifs and gently coming back to reality.

stole my breath
i hate giving people 10s, so here is a list of nitpickings that dropped it to a 9
-i think the ending should have slowed down more
-beginning string chords annoyed me
-to go along with the ending, i also think it should have lasted longer
-transition between the "serene landscape" and the "rolling hills" could have been done better.
-far too flat with volume. it needs some variation to give mood to the piece
