Needs balancing

At first, I thought this tune could have used some vocals. Then when I listened more closely, I discovered that there were some on the track. I think that you've got the balance all wrong here - try increasing the volume of the vocals and decreasing the volume of the music, just to balance it out. Sure, you can have softly balanced vocals for parts of the track, but if it's going to encourage people to sing along, it's going to need a little more help to get there.

I think that the track itself is good. A nice balance of guitars and drums, but you could certainly use a solo, just to take that piece to the next level - without it, you're going to be lacking slightly and it just seems like you're repeating your same guitar riffs over and over, which no-one wants to hear.

Cheers for the review, Coop, I appreciate it.
Yea, I have a tendency to kind of hide the vocals when it is me doing the singing - because in reality I can't sing heh. I was going for a 'Wall of Sound', but I agree i think it is overdone (or underdone as far as the vocals are concerned).

With regards to a solo, the plan was to have a quite distinct outro with a variety of lead guitar parts. I do think that during the main part of the song tho that atleast a small solo could be added.

I plan on remixing and in some cases re-recording the track when I have the final lyrics written, so I'll put your advice into practice then. I should have a proper singer in by then also. I hope you can come back and review the new version :)

Thanks again.

Too loud

Very good song, but it needs better mixing. The guitars are too loud and the effect on the amp should be turned down a bit as well. The singer's voice is too quiet in contrast to the loudness of the other instruments, so it's hard to make out the lyrics.

The song structure seems to be pretty nice, though. Also the main riff is very catchy.

Thanks, Haggard.

It seems all the reviews are saying the same things so either you're all insane or I need to do as is adviced ;) I'll try the latter before assuming the former ;)

Thanks for your thoughts and compliments. As with the other reviewers I hope you can pop back when I upload the new version.

Sounds psychotic

This makes me think of a slaughterhouse and a psycho is in it, posting up lyrics would be a nice help as well. Kind of a little too loud, might want to edit this and redo the sound so it isn't as loud and tad bit staticy all over the place.

Guitar: Sounds pretty nice for a riff, really enjoy how it sounds.

Bass: Sounds excellent even if it's barely audible at all.

Drums: Sounds awesome and provides an excellent backbone to the song.

Vocals: Kind of iffy and edgy with being able to hear it at all.

Overall: Just fix the sound level and this well be fine.

StickyRemnant responds:

Hey SCTE3, thanks for the review.
Is psychotic good? haha
Yea, I think I should post the lyrics up - even tho they're pretty much off the cuff and likely to be replaced - from now on.
The bass guitar is actually the only midi part in it. I didn't have access to an actual bass guitar but I agree I think it does sound ok in the mix, tho I do plan on replacing it.
With regards to the drums (addictive drums program) I plan on programming them properly but, yea, I think they sound pretty good. Addictive Drums is worth getting :)
I'll defo fix the vocals and remix the levels. Hopefully you can come back then and give me your thoughts :)

Cheers.
