Okay, I submitted this song before, but I realized something after posting it... You can't hardly hear some parts of the song. So I decided to just say "SCREW IT!" and start over. (Since I have to deal with the demo of FL Studio 9)

So here's some thins about the song. It was originally composed in Guitar Pro, then exported through midi to Fl Studio. Then hours of tedious listening and messing around produced this. Whether or not that's a good thing is up to you.

The song is in 24/4 time, at a 110 tempo. Consists of 12 tracks, and does all of this within only 12 measures of song =3

Also, all of the tracks have some sort of effect put onto it, so if maybe say the snare sounds like it's low quality, it's because of the "Chorus" effect put onto it.

I've also decided to use this as my entry for the "Represent A Country " Contest, that is if it's permitted.

So enjoy, and tell me what you think so I can better this song! =3

(Oh and it's probably good to mention that unless there aren't many problems found, this'll be a work in progress for a while.)

Edit:
Okay, I realized the beat is a bit of kilter.... So I did a little simplifying and added a somewhat melody like part to it... So yeah lol

Edit(Again):
Okay so i've uploaded pretty much the final version of this song. I'll probably tweak it here and there sometime, but it's pretty much done.

I Really Need To Find Talent For Myself..

Anything that is disregarding the mainstream music today is a 10 for me.
Anything that dismantles stereotype music is just wonderfully on my S+ list.
Anyone who disapproves of this genre doesn't understand that complexity is mear simplicty, you just have to understand the aspects of complexity. It's truely a musical piece which shouldn't be shunned on. It even reminds me of Final Fantasy 7, while in that factory level. It creates such an in depth atmosphere yet all the notes and beats are that of listening to it from another frequency. It's like listening to another dimension from this dimension. This guy pulled it off quite well. Music doesn't always have to have melody, anything that someone put's heart to is music. This definately will lead up to further songs that will exert extreme potential, and arduous work.
Keep up the good work Kirb. I want to see more of your work, but the best of all..
''I also like doing weird things in my music, becuase it forces me to try different things. Things that most likely wont be liked by the general public because it's different, but I like it so Imma keep it up! =P '' <-- How do you have such a carefree attitude? The power to be yourself and let not of burden from one's opinion. I do infact like to do abstract touches to my music aswell, even my stories, or pictures I make.
I don't know, maybe if you'd notice.. I practically composed this review to convey my idea of talking to you through PM through it's incoherent whispers.
Who knows, you may agree.. Maybe you won't.. That is fine.
Anyways, do NOT stop your strange enthusiasm towards your music, and possibly the reflection of yourself.

Kirbyfemur responds:

Wow, dude that was amazing! These kind of reviews are the reason i've still been posting reviews on here.

I honestly don't know where my carefree attitude comes from exactly, but i know it helps that i just like to have fun and do what i like to do. I mean I love making music i like to listen to, I like hearing weirdness, and dissonance in a song, because it makes me think about why it sounds weird, what it's doing, how it makes me feel, and what note will come after to complete it.

I actually had to be a bit more constricted in how i wrote this song because it was a competition and i thought it would be cool to win. But I didn't want to take away all of the weirdness. The final version of this song uses a different drum sound because the kit kind of got lost in the sounds.

I thank you so very much for your kind words =3

Piano is lost

There's a lot of stuff going on at the same time during the song, it almost sounds a bit messy and overloaded. But only almost. I think you came as close to the "messy sound" line as you could, but you didn't cross it, which is a good thing.

The song is pretty dark and the atmosphere is almost sinister. I think this is because of the very deep bassy sound we can hear right from the beginning of the song.

However, the 8-bit piano seems to be a bit lost in there. It tries to compete with the deep sounding instruments, but it fails. The more happy sounding 8-bit can't stand up to the dark and sinister atmosphere, which is really a pitty, because it would be a very interesting contrast between those two feelings (happy and sinister).

Borderline Industrial

I really could think of this piece as Industrial, if the beat was anything to go by. Perhaps some sort of amalgamation of Legend of Zelda and Metal Slug, where the industrial sounds just seem so mixed with a video game that it can't be the medieval setting of Zelda any more.

I think that you've certainly got a lot going for this track - it loops pretty well and has a nice perpetuation, so it continues to roll along nicely, though I couldn't listen to it all day, which is a shame. Perhaps more variation would combat that. Something like a darker, more menacing sound than the 8-bit keyboards, perhaps? At least in a solo or somewhere, so that you can break it up and get the flavour of the piece across.

Kirbyfemur responds:

At the moment for what this song is going for i'm sadly not planning to change the 8-bit sound. It's just been implanted in my brain that that is the sound i wanted for the particular instrument. The newer version has some slight changes that might have added a bit more variation to this. I may post it into the review request club for the next batch.

Anywho thanks for the review! =3

A wonderful tangent...

Hello,

I liked this, it had a very unique 80's sound.
It could almost qualify as ambient, but it has a kind of "pulse" to it.

It's very difficult to classify, and not exactly something you can rock out to,
but it's certainly something enjoyable to listen to.

A eclectic cocktail of sounds, provokes a variety of visions...
Not sure what else there is to say, except good job?

Kirbyfemur responds:

Howdy.

I kind of try to write music that's a bit strange since both the Audio Portal and general music is to full of the same stuff. So Wanted to try and be a bit different and give people lots to listen to rather than a simple one time listen and enjoy piece.

Anyways I've got a newer version out now, if you want check it out, i wont force you. =3

hmm

I know you've spent much time developing this piece.. but it sounds so awfully chaotic. Where's the melody? no clear drumpatterns! it still needs work.

i like the bassline/bassguitar very much and some effects are great too!

Keep at it!

Kirbyfemur responds:

It's kind of supposed to sound chaotic. I'm trying to keep from going on the set path that most people have with songs now adays. The melody is pretty much the thing that is played throughout.

I HATE drum parts that are both overly simplified and overused. So pretty much this song is trying to break away from most structure that has been set. But i'm also still learning the production portion of building songs, so the "beat" will become more clear.

I also like doing weird things in my music, becuase it forces me to try different things. Things that most likely wont be liked by the general public because it's different, but I like it so Imma keep it up! =P

I realize this need work, that's why i said it's still a work in progress lol

Anyways thanks for the review. =3

Edit:
Sorry if I sounded like a dick in this response... I didn't mean for it..
