Electronic - Trance

Author Comments

Golly, haven't made anything trancey in years and years. It has vocals by me also, which you may find enjoyable. This is the extended version of this song so deal with it ;)

Sorry about the low bitrate, it's hard to get a 10 minute track to fit into 8MB of disk space!

Stuff noone cares about but I feel like detailing anyway:
- TR-909 percussions are synthesized using the Drumazon VST by D16.
- Supersaw is Sytrus, used automation on the channel volume for the rhythmic envelope and also for those backwards sweeping chords.
- Various synth patterns and that quick repeated bassline are Sytrus/A Synth (smartelectronix) and a TB-303 emulator called Lush/FreeBee. I couldn't use my real 303 since I haven't got a way to sync it to FL (yet).
- Vocals were recorded using a Rode NT1-A condenser mic and a home made pop filter.
- Very little compression happening in the mix other than on the vocals. Master compressor is Endorphin by Digitalfishphones.
- No, 10 minutes isn't too long.
- This is for a contest, or rather, an event at Perhaps I'll win some stuff...

very well done

I only have two issues with it.

1. Maybe it's just me, but it feels like the bass at the beginning (0:26) feels a bit off. It seems intentional, but without any surrounding music, something just doesn't sound right in my opinion.

2. The kick should be deeper. For me, it got slightly annoying after a while

other than that, I loved it. Keep it up

midimachine responds:

ahhhh noone seems to like that kick sound except me D:

and yeah i think i need something accenting the on-beat in the first bit asdafsda

thanks for the kind words and pointers! :)
