Been a while since I submitted anything, but I recently came across some free time in which I threw this together. A remix of Stage 2 from Dr. Wily's Castle in Mega Man 9, I gave it a sort of Japanese theme (hence the name "Robot Oni") similar to what you might hear in Legend of Mystical Ninja or Muramasa. Instruments include primarily a pan flute, electric koto, violin, marimba, and a synth bassline to give it some legs. Comments always appreciated, and be sure to check out my other Mega Man 9 remixes ;)

A masterpiece.

I am. having. SHIVERS. While hearing this masterpiece.

Like HeavyHorse said, it's surprisingly underrated and not very common to see Megaman remixes going Japanese-sounding, if you except the occasionnal good Tenguman or Yamatoman remixes for obvious reasons. This is very well pulled, as it retains the technological feel overall felt in Megaman series (as, after all, it's a video game series revolving about robots), BUT adds a new, Japanese, almost honorific and distinguished dimension, which transforms this remix into what is almost a song on its own.

If it wasn't a video game remix, I would have sworn it's out of the OST of a video game, for reasons quoted above. Truly a masterpiece. It goes 10, it gets a fifen, and it's going on my favorites list. Very well done once again, and thank you for making this mix!

Thanks for the review Kaosu. I'm glad you liked it. It could use a little bit of mastering work the more I listen to it, but maybe I'll get around to it sometime...

nice, but i cant get to this level

havent heard the original, because i can never seem to make it to that stage cuz the first stage is gay and i always die. i've made it there once

nice composition tho. love the japanese theme. if you wouldnt have titled it as a megaman remix, i wouldve thought it was an original japanese orchestra

nice job here!! 5/5 10/10

Breathtaking...

Never would have ever imagined a reinterpretation of this theme with a Japanese direction, but you pull it off phenomenally. Absolutely incredible, kudos to you.
