This is just a test, so don't mind the timing mistakes in there. I just wanted to see if and how I could manage to record my instruments directly into my laptop. My guitar is currently at the workshop so I didn't get to put a guitar track on there, too. I might do something more with that riff in the future...

Luckily metal guitar is half distortion half guitar so you could probably end up with something ok but not if you dont edit out all that static. Try messing with the high ends on an EQ if you don't know how to use one. Usually a lot of the static is very high pitch-14khz and up. My suggestion is to get an audio interface. you can get a decent one for 200 bucks or less(well decent in comparison). guitar center matches any amazon stores =/
