Some more old music that I found. This one is called "a.r.t." - which stood for "another Rebirth tune". This was the result of messing around with it for about an hour. It was the first and last Rebirth tune I ever wrote. Just made a series of related pattens for bass, melodies, and percussion and just flicked switches, changed patterns and twisted knobs for 5+ minutes. The sound quality of this synth (esp. in 1999) was superb and mixing was easy - I felt like I was cheating.

Rebirth was a pretty advanced software synthesizer that emulated 2 Roland TB-303s (which were meant for studio bass accompaniment), a TR-808 (drum machine - very old school sounding) and a TR-909 (a newer drum machine, still old by today's standards). Roland meant for the real versions of these synths to replace studio musicians, however, the bass synth and the drum machines sounded NOTHING like real thing and never got much studio use. Underground techno and electro heads in the mid to late 80s discovered they were great for that scene and now has become the staple sounds of classic techno, trance and house (esp. acid house).
