Work-in-progress. Nice, calm rhodes. Don't really know what to do with this song yet...

Sounds like a nice thing to wake up and have some java to.Brillant!

Not too bad...

Drags a little - just a hair on the 'too repetitive' side - Jeez - this sounds like mine - what? do you master through headphones as well? There was a bit of distortion on the lower end but that's not too big of a deal. This felt like it could have been much more but as it is it's decent. Because of the above - distortion and lack of progression - I'm voting 4 on this track.

You're doing alright though so far. I'd like to hear what you can do if you REALLY apply yourself.

thanks for the review!

hmm...i master through speakers. distortion? i'm using a pretty nice limiter on the whole thing...and there's no clipping without the limiter either...maybe you have your bass cranked up a bit too much? i'll check it again just to be sure...

thanks alot! cheers an g'day.

I like the Rhodes sample, and the slow building nature of the trk really starts to get my head nodding. Generally it doesn't really go anywhere and becomes a little repetetive. It would be nice to hear the Rhodes riff develop, or a melody playing something to complement the chords.
Maybe u could try progressing the beats into a more full-on breaks style? Definately potential to make this into a complete mellow breaks trk, nice stuff.

tedJohnston responds:

hello there, thanks for the review! work on this track has been really stale lately, so i'll try implementing some of your suggestions. since i already got lazy and used a sample for the main melody, perhaps i'll write my own rhodes countermelody to it hahaha.

thanks alot! cheers an g'day.
