Well, I lied. I told Reasoner I'd give his song a go once I finished a current project. But to be completely honest, I couldn't work on my project with this melody running through my head. Here it is. My interpretation of Living Transparent.

I was originally going to use Ryan's MP3 of his playing and build around it, but I figured I would arrange the whole piece myself. I was doing brilliantly, if I do say myself, but then I had to improvise the left hand once it got difficult to hear on Ryan's song. I also had to add in a couple notes to help with transitioning.

Anyway, since Electronica is my prominent genre, I couldn't leave out some Electronic Elements in my song. My interpretation follows Ryan's song for the most part. I added a violin here, some percussion there, and a whole orchestra later on. Then, where Ryan's original song would fade out, I reiterate the beginning melody with a Trance Lead (By the way, I apologize if I'm getting my genres incorrect. My knowledge on the different genres is, shall we say, abysmal).

This is easily the hardest I've worked on any song, and I have Ryan to thank for that. He pushed me to my limit. And, despite what I feel I have accomplished, I can't help but feel a little disappointed submitting my interpretation in this form. The mixing is, in my opinion, pretty bad. I've never been good at it. In the EQ, I had to cut out most of the frequencies to keep the Peak Meter from Clipping, but in doing so, it feels like the song didn't deliver the punch and intensity I wanted it do. Honestly, I think the climax sounds a bit quieter than the beginning. I really want this song to be incredible, so I'd like to hear comments from everyone. I want to know everything. Anything at all. Anything to help improve it, especially mixing-wise.

Let me wrap this rather lengthy commentary. I hope I kept Ryan's emotion intact throughout the song. I hope I didn't completely ruin the piece. I hope it speaks out to all of you, just as his had. And most of all, I hope you, Ryan, enjoy this piece.
