It's....different.
The begining sounds like something from Crash Bandacoot but then gets into something from Zelda and the Ocarina of Time. None the less I kinda like it. I give you a 7/10.
Composed by Schrodinger, ExplodingZombie's musical apprentice for a currently in-development RPG.
So basically, in the game, there's this really old artist guy who lives in the heart of a forest. Song has nothing to do with the artist. It's for the forest that he lives in. There's a myth/legend what have you, saying that the forest is not real, and that the artist who lives in the woods can draw things that come to life. But if that is true, it sort of throws off the not real thing. Regardless, the deuteragonist treks in solo to find said artist way way late in the game. It's not an intentional interlude, and it's completely optional, but if you carry through with it, you'll gain a massively powerful character for your party. :V

Also, the synth at the end comes in way too late than it should. GODDAMMIT. RAGE. ANGRYFAIC. I'll fix that later.
Also also the VG music section of NG are a bunch of elitist fags. :V

Crash Bandicoot, eh? Can't say I can really find the relationship there, but I don't remember much of Crash, so I'll take your word on it. Still, that's pretty awesome, because from what I can remember, most of the Crash games had awesome soundtracks. :V
