"OMG BUT..."

date: June 1, 2009

The music is absolutely beautiful... but I couldn't bear to listen through the whole song because of the damn vocals. *Cringes at his voice* I also agree with Denvish, the low quality affect also totally ruins it... The radio frequency-esk noises weren't that bad, but they were overdone a little bit.

I'm going to 10/10 and RESPECT this song and just try to ignore the horrible vocalist. I BEG YOU TO RECORD THIS AGAIN WITH YOU SINGING IT.

"...ummm...yea..."

date: May 21, 2006

...well, to start this one off, just so you know, please don't be offended, but I understood NOTHING in this song. The man kept saying the same few phrases and I understood nothing...umm...is there a climax to this song, like some excitement or something, maybe a "breakdown"? This sounds like something I hear during a depressing part of a movie...well, it's probably hard to put a good recording on NG with no generic know-how on, so good job...

Author's Response:

Yeah, I should have sang it. That SONSABITCHES.

Thanks for the kind review.

"I love this song!"

date: April 18, 2006

When it finally comes to a merciful end!

At first I thought you had mic'd up a nursing home or something where some octagenarians with Alzheimers were learning how to play guitars. Mic'd up BADLY I might add.

It was really experimental and an expert touch to degrade the recorded audio quality. It hasn't been done to death or anything.

But then the vocals came through, and I realised that you were going for some emo bullshit. Whiny, pathetic vocals that make me look at Simple Plan with newfound respect.

I can see why this track took forever to put together, with all those adept production tricks, like the half baked harmonisation at the end and some delay slapped on the main vocal for a line or two.

I give the 'Green Light' to the taste police to burn down your studio, compress the ashes into a cube and put it in a rocket bound for the sun.

Not our sun though, i don't want to befoul our solar system.

"OMFG"

date: December 29, 2005

Denvish was your ownly review omfg!
not bad
it would of been a good idea to make there more drums like twice as much as the bongos you used in that
it didnt seem to be like its title green light
lyrics werent bad
but i thought he was talking about a gray lotter tiket " just leave the gray lotto "
anyway good good good

Author's Response:

Yeah, that's the problem, I suppose; when you get someone else to sing it for you, they never seem to get it right.

"just leave the gray lotto " is the funniest 'translation' so far.

I appreciate the review, thank you.

"Pretty good"

date: June 29, 2005

I have quite a strong temptation to take this and add a harmony track and some picking stuff on the 12-string.

The only negative thing I have to say about it is the start - I know the low quality sound is intentional, but it gives the wrong impression of the song. Apart from that, it's pretty professional. Nice submission.

deck_head_tottie - approved =)

Author's Response:

Denvish, I'll start out by calling you a legend.

I personally didn't want to give it a "poor quality" effect, but Mark [the vocalist] insisted that I added the mask over the track to add "To the texture". In my opinion I thought the song had enough going on without some radio noise over the top of it.

This I my proudest achievement so far, because generally I play the piano, so to diverse into other instruments was a big step and I enjoyed it, maybe too much.

Hopefully I will upload some more of my music because I want it to be listened to and get some decent feedback; but I'm not the most coherent of singers, so I have to wait for a vocalist to come along.

I thank you once again for your review and I appreciate your support.

[You can play a 12 string? Fuck man...]
