Here's another dark hip hop track, with some more symphonic elements this time...Has a fairly sinister tone to help portray the corrupt, crime filled city of Gotham.

haha, don't know how you came to that picture :P however the majority of the song is written in harmonic minor which has a similar scalic pattern akin to a lot of music from the Middle East. but thanks for the review!

"ok ok"

date: September 4, 2009

i would have not used that snap maby a snare and a clap mixed for that fire the snap dosent have that fire unless its in a dance beat

September 4, 2009

Author's Response:

heh, i'd have to respectfully disagree :P snaps can certainly be used in hIp-hop, and the reason why I used it sparingly is because I just didnt want that "fire" to come in just yet! In the verse, I actually did exactly what you recommended, in the second phase of that section I threw both a snare and clap on top of that snap so you can truly hear that zap and tap and then rap! o..thankfully I never add lyrics to my tracks, that would just be crap, and make me want to nap. anyways, thank you for the input!

"Very good solid work."

date: September 4, 2009

This is very good indeed. It sure does have that gotham feeling. Very good clean mixing as well. I really like the solid percussion in this, and it goes well with the strings. Everything is also panned very well, adding to the solidness of this song.

Great work.

"Original and BALANCED"

date: September 4, 2009

I love string music, and the way you've put everything together here touches on the notion of Gotham really well. It starts with a nice strong beat, but it's not hip hop. It's got the feeling of classic strings, but it's gritty. It's starts getting dark, but then the piano comes and lifts it back out of that darkness and we hear piano play softly into the night. You captured the city element PERFECTLY. So 10/10 and 5/5 keep up the good work :) - Bone
