This song is a very nice dance track. It is a dance remix of 'My Savior,' a song which I released earlier this year. I had plenty of VSTs to work with in this track and I am glad of the outcome. This remix has been in my head for the longest time and it feels so great to get it out. I'm sorry if it's too long, but I tried my best not to make it too repetitive. I hope that you will enjoy this track and review and rate it accordingly. In my personal opinion, this is my best work so far. It was also among the most challenging.
Please enjoy and dont forget to give me some advice!

Repititive and too lound at times

The melodies in this song are very nice and also the beats are quite good. The problem here is that the song is over 6 minutes long, but there isn't too much that happens during those 6 minutes, so it gets repititve very fast.

Also, sometimes all instruments seem to play at full volume which doesn't sound exactly good. It stresses the ears because there's so much happening at once.

If you mix those "louder parts" a bit better and try to break up the song structure here and there you'd get a very good song.

Believe me, I sweat trying to level out and pan and equalize all the sounds. But i'm still an amateur so I'm learnin day by day. I have absolutely no free time anymore these days but when i'm fit I will practice on this.
Thanx!

Quite repetitive

While this tune has some good crisp sounds to it, I think that six minutes is a little excessive, even for this. You'd be quite able to getting away with looping this after three minutes.

Basically, I'd add a lot more variation, or cut the tune down to size - the listener can get a little stuck in a rut with the repetitive sound from the almost 8-bit sound of the lead keyboard, which for me does no favours. The start was nice and had lots of variation, but this became very sparse later on, so think about the spread out of that sort of things.

It can be a good sounding flash that will work, but it does need something else, be that a new sound to add to it, a change to the primary melody, or just cutting it down a little, but I'm sure you can get there with it :)

Thanx for the review! Many ppl have agreed that I should add more variety. I have absolutely no free time anymore (school, college apps, x-tracurricular stuff, work, etc.) to even open up my DAW but when i get some time cleared up my next goal is to experiment with variations.

Yep, you definitely worked hard on this.

Wow, I've never heard of the original, but the original has to be really good to be as good as this, IMO. Your best work, and one of the better songs I've heard in quite a while.

This song has some really good melodies, and there are so many different sounds playing together and sounding so well. Harmony here is awesome. The instruments were excellent, especially the amazing choir voice, although they're slightly on the generic side, especially the one that plays the arpeggio-ish melody in the background, which I've heard similar quite a few times. I liked the effects you used here, especially the cool sound effect you first used at 1:05. I just think that the rythms of the notes at around 4:20 were a little too complex and I lost track of the song in that solo, since there wasn't really anything to keep the rythm of the song like a kick every beat or something, if you get what I mean; well, unless that's how it is in the original.

The transitions were very nicely done, especially that effect you used which switched from one melody to another really well, and the snare rolls here were very cool. The song stucture is great too, and there were some very good buildups in this song. The variety over here was quite good too, but some parts did get a little old too, as INoisy said, so you should give more variety of effects and maybe some changes in the automation, more instruments and some more variety in the drums, since right now the melodies are quite varied.

The intro was great, and starting it with the arpeggio-ish melody was nice. Great buildup from then on was fantastic. It's the ending that bothered me a little. I liked the effect that you ended it with, but it needs more of an ending note to it. You could try and end it with the choir voices, the effect you used, maybe a reverbed kick drum and some other instrument you used here with a proper endng note while doing a quick fade of the arpeggio melody.

The drums were quite nice, and had some nice samples to them that fit perfectly for the Dance genre. I think that they were repetitive though, so varying them more would fix the small repetitiveness problem that this song has. Also, you should do a quick drum buildup at around 0:24 to indicate that the drums are starting, just so that they don't come in too suddenly.

In all, it's surely one of your best songs, and sounds great. Just some small defects here and there, but it's a great track overall. I'd give you a 10, but I feel cruel today, so I'll give you a 9 because of those small problems :P. Oh well, in general, superb job, keep up the good work :D... Oops... I overdid this review. D:

Wow! Nice review! I'm glad you really liked the song. BTW, if you wanna hear the original, just go to my audio page, it's there. I'm very proud of my harmonies in this one, maybe not the best IMO ('Don't Lead Me Astray' is my personal favorite) but they are still pretty sweet. I wish i could respond as long as your review but it's kinda impossible =P. I will take your advices and apply them to my future projects.
Thanx!

To be honest I found little to say about this. My overall impression was that it had many generic sounds to it and it wasn't anything too special, but it wasn't bad by any means. It was also quite long and in some parts it seemed to be drawn out or it might have gotten repetitive in a few spots.

I did start bouncing my foot to song a bit as it was playing so it did have a nice beat and I did get involved a bit, but like I said I think that the song itself was a tad bit drawn out and wasn't anything too special. Sorry for the harsh words.

DJ-Chilvan responds:

haha, no problem man! There aint nothin like harsh words in a review! As a matter of fact, the more 'harsh' words in a review, the better. The lead synths were basic, and that was because i couldnt find that 'right' one so i knew that i couldnt go wrong with a simple 8bit synth.
Thanx!

Nice work, dude.

This is really upbeat and cheery, I'm diggin' it. (: It just seems like a happy song to listen to when you're chillin, like a "good mood song." All the synths sound great; the whole song has a pretty smooth quality to it.

I like that it's long, it gives the song time to develop, and it doesn't end up seeming too repetitive, although some more variation could be introduced, and it definitely wouldn't hurt. (:

It doesn't seem like a song you'd dance to, or get up and move to, more of a song for when you're just relaxing. That said, it's a nice piece of work, dude. 5/5 and 9/10, just because some parts get sliiiightly old. I downloaded it, too. ;D

DJ-Chilvan responds:

haha thanx man! Your feedback has made my day cuz I really sweat on this song. It is very uplifting, even the lyrics for the original 'My Savior' is uplifting. I was thinking of more variation too but I was afraid that it would add too much to the song and make it all confusing and the nuances unclear, which it probably would have.
I did really try on the harmonies of the synths. That was what made this song so chill IMO.
Thanx for the review!
