"A hint of new order"

date: September 16, 2009

This was really good.... the best song i have heard from you by far. I can't quite put my finger on why i like it so much. All of the instruments sounded great and they weren't drowning out each other. If you make more music like this then you are going to have to pm me whenever you make a song.

Wow, thanks for the 10, haven't heard from you in awhile.
I'm glad you liked it as much as you did. New Order was one of my inspirations for this song.

"80stastic!"

Summary: 80stastic!
Review: Some people just don't like this kind of music. I don't understand why. It's awesome.

I loved the bass, and the drums. Oh god, when the drums set in. That was so awesome. It really completed that 80s-feel I got from the bass in the intro.

Even though the song all throughout didn't really go anywhere, and was pretty repetitive, this one came out greatly. I don't really mind that it's a little repetitive, because I simply think it's awesome.

Also, a really cool outro. Nice stuffs!

"80s? Oh yeah!"

date: August 29, 2009

Wow, from the first note on it has this 80s feel, great job! But even better, when the drums set in at 0:13 it is even MORE 80s than it was before...

Yeah, a very good song. You managed to create this atmosphere that we who where born in the 80s loved (and still love) so much. This reminds me of classic hits like "Fade to grey" or "Sunglasses At Night".

A few voice samples would've been really cool, however. If you can't sing there's always a lot of filters you can use to make spoken words sound very interesting. You should experiment a bit with various filters to see what kind of vocals could fit with this song.

heh, thanks.
I toyed with the idea of sampling some voices in.
Kinda wish I had spent more time on this, I'm going to have to go back and expirement a bit more.

"I <3 1980s :)"

Well, this is very 1980s and I can certainly hear a few other tunes creeping in here - In fact, it sounds a little like the Bloodhound Gang's "Bad Touch", but slowed down. It might just be me however...

I'm not sure about the volume of the first batch of synthesised horns that you brought in, as they kind of blew me away, so I suffered a little at that. Perhaps with a little extra tweaking, you'd end up with a much better piece.

Still, it's a nice loop and I look forward to other pieces from your new album.

Thanks, I'm an amature at mixing but I'll try to get those horns to fit in or change the synth voice.

"Never went anywhere."

date: August 28, 2009

Whilst this song never did anything wrong, per se, I just don't feel it did enough right..

The melody was fine, but got drowned out by the bass a bit too much, which was far too repetitive.

I think the problem with this was that it was never going anywhere..We were never waiting for the next surprise or riff or whatever..It was all just a bit predictable...

I quite like how the end looped back to the start seamlessly though, I didn't realise I was listening to it again. Unfortunately, that's also a bad thing. Like movies and books, songs should have a beginning, a middle and an end, and I felt that this was lacking these.

I'm challenging the fundamentals of song writing.
