I read through that thread a while ago when it was opened and, curious as to what dub step actually is, I listened to all the examples that the topic starter offered, opened reason, made a bass and a drum line and left it for a while.
I looked at the project again (today, actually) and got the rest of it done. I've been listening to a little bit of Shpongle last night, so that explains the weird effects on the drums at certain points. I like them, and now that i look back on it the song sounded very empty and boring without them. The tribal percussion in the background was just a substitute for percussion because my "main" drum track didn't have enough bass and i was too lazy to have EQ effects turning on and off left and right.
