"Very different and intriguing!"
date: August 19, 2009
Having browsed the Audio Portal for quite some time, I've come to realize that it contains a lot of generic-sounding beats. And while some of them are worth listening to, hearing the same formulaic structure over and over again does get pretty dull. My favorite part of this piece is how it completely disregards that structure and takes on a totally different form. I really enjoy the unconventional and different, and I believe this piece falls into that category. The distorted-sounding melodies and mysterious/creepy moods in this piece sound and feel great, and really make it stand out from the rest.
To sum it all up, I throughly enjoyed this, and I'd love to hear more stuff done in this style. :)

Author's Response:
I try to be different given the confines of the equipment given to me. Or maybe the people who make music that all sounds the same actually spent a fair amount of time studying the conventions of music that they never really exposed to enough of the unconventional parts of the artform.
Beat wise I think most of my songs are pretty tame. I don't think I have anything up in the portal that is off-meter.
