Keep in mind while listening that this is a work in progress.
Also, as a club mix, it has a somewhat dull (repetitive) intro and outro.
My original goal was to make a song centered around the "pipe" sound from Mario Bros.
I had so many ideas I wanted to try. After many tryouts and completely revamped arrangements varying from minimal to hard trance I decided to go for an electro-style-trance-I-du nno-what-else mix.
I thought it would be cool to begin with overworld (including a little homage to my own Mario Bros 1-1 remix), crossover to the star (invincible) sound, get a couple of 1ups and then go back to overworld again. The decision to overlay the wingcap sound came later on and I still don't know if I like it or not. This relates to my list of problems I would very much like you to address.
Major personal issue:
Wingcap sound (02:28): ditch it, change it, keep it?
Minor personal issues:
Equalizing (individual instrument levels etc.)
Panning (experimented a lot ;-)
Instrument choice (especially wingcap)
But feel free to leave me some constructive criticism about anything. This is by far the most complex song I ever created and would like to hear your opinion. Be harsh, be kind, leave a review!
