Not bad

I think that the rhythm guitar is not given enough credit here and the lead guitar is just pissing about, to be brutally honest.

The rhythm and the drums carry the piece greatly, but the experimental quality of the lead guitar really does bring the track down, sadly. Perhaps sitting and listening to the piece before submitting will help. This would be the audio equivalent of proof reading and as a result, you'd be able to provide yourself with such an improvement, even before submission.

Nice

It's a nice riff and it's presentated in a very nice way. :)

The drums are very minimalistic, but it fits good in here, as you want to show off the riff, so it would be no use to include a loud drum track in this piece.

However, sometimes I have the feel that the mixing of the instruments is slightly off. Sometimes the background music is louder than the melody itself, which sounds a bit messy in my opinion.

Not bad..

Having heard two of your songs now, there is a recurring problem that just needs serious consideration..Multiple tracks in your pieces never seem to fit together correctly...I'm not sure if this is how you mix the tracks or how they were actually composed..

The acoustic feel of this worked well though..It was really relaxed and listenable..

I usually don't like simple fading in and out, but it worked really well for this..

It's weird, because at first listen, it seems really repetitive and boring, but after the 10th listen, it's not half as boring :/

hehe Glad you seem to like it i must say this was a quick 5 min job done just to test out the delay effect on the guitar and if i could make it sound ok and personally i think the same as you reviewed

when i recorded it then listened back i thought meh nothing decent then listened a few times and found the sound relaxing it grew on me a bit :p

thanks for the reviews dude :)

Certainly original

Summary: Certainly original
Review: This is a nice track. It's repetitive, even though it's short.

The fact that it's repetitive and short makes it sound half-assed, which is a really bad thing. You should edit the bg music and rhythms, and make sure you can hear the guitar well, because at some times it was overpowered by the bg.

Still, the biggest sinner is the repetitiveness. It really makes the song boring, even though the mellow and relaxing sound really is something I'd love.

mistermurfi responds:

Half assed is right i literally spent 5 minutes on this from start to finish was just something i done for fun and to do something a bit different than the other things id put up

it was more just an experiment of the tone and delay effect really but thanks for the review on it :D

It's OK

It's a little short and slightly repetitive, but not that bad.

The melody is sort of relaxing but has a bit of a 'slums city' feel to it, but needs a bit more catchiness to it, if you get what I mean. Still, it's not that bad. Instruments were good too.

The structure isn't bad, although the melody repeats itself a little. The intro and ending felt a little strange and so did the ending, since they both faded, and it felt like part of a long song instead of a song of its own.

I can barely hear the drums, so I'd suggest making them louder, and the are repetitive too so changing it a little would add more variety. Drum samples weren't bad.

Overall, a good little song, with an OK melody an structure, but the intro, ending and variety need fixing.

mistermurfi responds:

yes well this is really repetative i know but i literally spent 5 mins from start to finish doing it hence the backin drums and guitar are just looped not changed around at all

lazy i know but well was just a rush job to do something relaxed and with an unusual tone :D

thanks for the review :D
