[OS] And Brianna Said:

We sat down, I popped out the groove in about 5 minutes.

I asked her what she thought I should call it.

And Brianna Said: "I don't know..."

The rest of the song was pulled together in a matter of about 3 hours total work time. Mostly it's a tune to be subtly added to your playlist and relaxed with every once in a while.

This one, naturally, is for Brianna.

Enjoy.

I will review this one.

Uh oh! I'm doing a play-by-play!
You have actually convinced me to follow music fully, instead of dabbling in computer stuff. I hope you are happy ;)
Intro (0:00 - 0:25) : It was nice. Established the piece well.
Early (0:25 - 1:28) : Varies just enough to keep it going, plus sounds great.
Middle (1:28 - 2:33) : Sounds nice. Introduces the main melody, which blends well with the rest of the piece.
End (2:33 - 2:56) : I must say that it doesn't quite as resolve itself.
Outro (3:56 - 3:29) : Well, it turns out nice. It seamlessly ends.

Overall a good job. I like easy feel, but the beat is pretty strong as well.
Keep up the good work.
(What software do you use?)

ObsidianSnow responds:

Haha, how could I not be happy? You enjoyed the piece! ;P

I use Reason 4.0, it's made by Propellerhead. Very high-end software. It's complex and hard to learn, but well worth it if you're serious about music. But whatever you do DON'T use something like Garageband or SongSmith - they're more like toys than solid software. Programs I would recommend would be:

CuBase (it can link up to Reason through a program called ReWire, which can provide astounding results);

Sonar (heard good things, haven't tried it);

FLstudio (it's decent, but not industry standard);

Finale (Industry standard for all notated pieces - so if you want an actual orchestra to play your music, this is something you'll want)

...Those are just a couple. There are a number of good ones - they're usually expensive, but worth it. I wouldn't advise against trying some of the cheap or free software, since it can give you some good experience, but don't expect any kind of professional sounding results from them.

I hope that helped you out, and thanks for the review, KB1PKL!

This was incredibly easy listening, yet a very mid-upbeat tempo. I usually listen to a lot of downtempo stuff, so that is what I'm used to, but this seemed to relax perfectly well while maintaining a faster, happy feel.

I enjoyed it a lot. The only critique I would add is that the melody that starts off around 1:44, in the beginning until about 1:46 sounds a bit out of place with the rest of the music, but that's all.

Excellently done.

ObsidianSnow responds:

Great. I always look forward to reading the first review. I genuinely appreciate yours: thoughtful and helpful, while also being relatively short and to the point.

Thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed it, Neurotangent.
