Here's my newest song!
There's actually a story behind this one. I started making a song and i was building on it and suddenly... it sounded familliar. Then i realised i composed a part of Requiem Of A Dream (the real name is ''Lux Aeterna'') by Clint Mansell.
After i realised that i made the song a bit longer, but i couldn't continue eventually, so i just made an end. The end is way too abrupt :P
Anyway, enjoy this short song and please keep in mind that i did not recreate the original song on purpose.

PS: Turn the volume up a bit ;-)

"Epic-ish"

Interesting little story behind this. It does sound good, just not on the same line of epic. The ending is rather abrupt, and thats why there is no 10-Star for you.

Author's Response:

Yep, the ending is way too abrupt. I just couldn't continue the song :-(
Thanks for the review! :D

This was nice. This tune is very dramatic! KAZAH! The only thing i dont like about it is that it doesnt have the kajjillion instruments all going at once like in a proper orcestra, well anyway who cares. You should make a techno song for a change or anything wierd maybe :D
Keep up the good wrk bro :D Peaceout

Believe in the me that belives in you!

Lol umm.. can you review this song for me :D http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/liste n/261831

Author's Response:

Haha, i need to practice a lot more before i can let ''kajjillion'' instruments at the same time and all of them playing something different :P
And i already made something weird, check my last previous submission ^^
Well, thanks for the review and i'll see what i can do for you ;-)

I really like the timpani, it is the same beat over and over, but it manages to stay connected somehow, and doesn't become a boring drum loop. You are right the ending is a little abrupt, but too much.

August 7, 2009

Author's Response:

I'm glad you liked the Timpani. And the ending is too abrupt, i know, but as i said in the author comments i couldn't continue it :-(
Anyway, thanks for the review!

"Not Bad..."

There are a couple of notes that the french horn hits that I'm not sure is actually in the real range of a typical french horn player. Those really really high notes are coming to mind. I play french horn, and it seems like some of those notes are just awfully high for the instrument. I could be wrong of course though.

As a composition, I like it. But I don't love it. It is too repetitive, especially considering how short it is. It really runs the same idea and chord structure over and over for the brief 1:13 of it's existence.

Now that being said, this is a beautiful piece. It sounds quite wonderful, and has a great atmosphere to it. I feel like I should be climbing a mountain, or preparing for a battle when I listen to this. It really has that epic and majestic quality that leads a character to some sort of epic undertaking or conquest.

The percussion is really nicely done to say the least. Very nice indeed, and it simply adds to the atmosphere of this piece.

4/5 and 8/10 overall. Wonderful job here, just not quite great yet.

Author's Response:

Yeah, i know it's repetitive. I wanted to add some variation, but for some reason.. i couldn't. I was completely stuck after i realised that i was recomposing a song in stead of composing one.
And i don't know about those Frenchs horns, i don't have any experience with them. I never really thought of the actual range of it :P
And i'm really glad with how the percussion came out too :-)
Well, thanks for the review. I appreciate it! :D

This is a very nice peace. Ilike how it builds!
But your right the end is to abrupt so why dont you just fade the end? You know just lower the volume slowy. By using automation clips.

August 3, 2009

Author's Response:

Sorry, but i refuse to make fade out endings :P
And of course i know how to use automation clips and i use them in this song too, but just fading out a song is way too simple.
Anyway, thanks for the review. I appreciate it :-)
