The basics are there, so far so good.

You have a catchy loop, you play with it and vary it, that's a good start.
The drums and percussion are good, but i'm still missing a lot.
You can't go without an accompanying bassline, especially in this kind of music, it helps the sound 'fill out'.
If you'd added a catchy bassline to go with it, this would have been a very decent loop for use in a game or background menu.
keep it up, you're already showing improvement.
