I'm not ashamed to admit it... but I actually created a song I might be a little proud of. I just find it entertaining. I enjoyed making it, I enjoy the way it sounds, I feel like the lyrics are pretty good. In the past I've been disappointed in a lot of my songs, sure they were fine... but they felt as if they were missing something. I think this song might actually have what the others might have been missing. Now if only I could figure out what that thing was...

first verse is me, second is who I wanted to be when I grew up, third is my parents who think I'm a junkie.

"Unorthodox, raw, breathtaking, inspiring!"

The lyrics are really simple, to the point where they become really funny in a strange sort of way, its because you're speaking in syllables. The really subdued beat somehow compliments the vocals and just gives the whole thing a comical kind of tone. It makes me feel like doing my own kind of one of these tracks, we should do a collaboration when I get a microphone, that would be so funny.

One of my ideas is that we both do a verse each and then halfway through the song, we start talking over each other and the song becomes all confusing, that would just be trippy, or like echoing each other's lyrics, sort of like 'who needs drugs?' and then an echo that says 'I need drugs'.

Just to the extent of the song's lyrics "Who needs drugs, when you could be like me". Besides that I liked the lyrics and even the vocals, I liked how it felt. :P

haha, thaaanks! The lyrics just sort of came to me. When I first sang the choras i sang it in a falsetto, I've considered trying to record that over the original song... a little vocal harmony... I don't think it would work out though.

"Hey mr no drugs"

date: July 6, 2009

1st of all do drugs. 2nd this is a pretty OK track. It aint great, but its O K. You for the most part need to work on yer vocals.

Author's Response:

haha, I'm neither for or against drug use. Songs take on a voice of there own. This song wasn't meant to be serious, more for lols.

Also I thought this was my best vocal work so far. Sure there is a little clipping but I recorded it over and over again until I felt it wasn't going to get any better. I am aiming for sprechgesang. So I'm really trying to rap or sing, something in between.
