Well, it took me a long time to get to where I am now. I first started on a new song a couple of weeks ago.
I had wanted to make an ambient song. Unfortunately, after making about 30 seconds of a song, I ran out of ideas. Still feeling a little musical, I began making a remix. Eventually, that too, led to a roadblock. Undeterred, I began working on a remix of another song. Bad idea. Becoming desperate, I found an acapella of Delta Goodrem's Believe Again (nice song, by the way) and tried again. No dice.
Feeling defeated, I tried making another original song. I got lost on that one as well. I took a break from FL Studio for a couple of days. I'm starting to improvise on the piano, and while playing, I played part of the song you're listening to right now. Inspired yet again, I went back to FL Studio. I took the two original songs I started, merged them together, and added my melody. Here's the result.
It was definitely a wild experience making this song. It is amusing. Once you experience success, it doesn't matter how many failures you've had along the way.
It just so happens that I completed this song on my birthday, too. It was the best possible birthday gift I could have given to myself. =P
Anyway, the mixing on this was rough. I tried everything I possibly could have done at my skill level. It turned out decently, though. Before, the distortion was nearly unbearable.
I hope you enjoy listening to this. As always I appreciate any comments and criticism.

Er, thanks. =D
It was meant to be an ambient song at first, but in the end, some trancy elements snuck in there. =P
Excellent!
The build-up to 1:25 is amazing! I really liked it. I would make the lead a tad louder there, to show that you have reached the point you wanted to! Very melodious, it has the same progression as Pachelbel's Canon in D.. which is a very soothing song. Nice melody and cool piano playing. The distortion on the bass drum is really bad at the end though, that's the only thing I would try to fix. Great stuff!
Check out some of my stuff, I like the way you write your music! :D
Thanks, man! I'm glad you like it that much.
Yeah, the distortion was pretty bad, but before I tweaked it, it was even worse. I'll try to see what I can do. I'm not good at mixing or mastering at all. Maybe you could help me with that. =P
Thanks for the tips, and I'll look at your music when I'm not too busy.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
