Egads, I'm actually happy enough with something to put it on here. =3= THIS CAN ONLY END IN PAIN! But oh well.

Battle theme for the HamstaPowah games! One of many I've done over the years, this one in particular, I'm gonna say, Golden Sun influence? I dunno. All I know is I was shooting for a specific sound (something kinda Celtic) when this violin madness popped into my head. When the song came back into my head last night, I knew it was time to compose the thing. So I have.

A friend found me the violin soundfont. It worked out just how I wanted it to, so that's good. Choir and strings took some tweaking and still aren't UTTERLY PERFECT, however, and I now live in eternal fear that my drums shall be rejected by all~! But ho well.

I made a song. Been a while. 'Bout damn time.

"Good melody, but the rest needs work"

date: January 28, 2010

The choir aahs are overdone. The song needs more meat on its bones. However, the basics are there.

I have heard niche JRPGs use a melody like the one you used.

"Lovely"

date: October 21, 2009

I don't know a lot about music, but I love this song anyway. The loop is very smooth, hardly noticeable. That was nice because it didn't distract me and kept me in a good mood while I colored in photoshop. :3

"Sorta Oriental, great job!"

date: July 26, 2009

It has a bit of an oriental flare to it, i'd say it would be the perfect song for an ATB bar(where the bar for you and your and your enemie's next turn fills up) style Turn-based rpg where all the characters are either ninja, samurai, or Martial Arts masters. It great 10/10!

"Huuuuuuuge improvement"

date: July 2, 2009

This is giant improvement over your previous songs. The main melody here is really awesome, but you don't use it enough, and you MURDER the poor violin. You have GOT to swap out your primary instrument or it grinds into your head. The song in general has lots of melodic variation but little to no instrumental or frequency variation. I can hear a bunch of other instruments that would work here, as well as nice strong strings part somewhere. Something to fill the gap. A very mellowed out synth pad would also work if it was fairly realistic. A flute would work. Anything, really, just USE ANOTHER INSTRUMENT. Seriously.

Other then that, solid idea here, but work is indeed needed. You have to introduce new instrumental concepts, new beat patterns, new rhythms, etc. in order to keep the audience interested. The bland percussion here does not help either.

"Pu em up"

date: July 2, 2009

Somewhere between Zelda's Choir, and Golden Suns beat is where I hear it.

Goldenda?
Zelsun?

I do like it. I think if you speed it up even faster you have the makings of battle music into boss fight :D

Other then that I say keep up the good work :)
