This is the sixth of about 20 short cues I agreed to write exclusively for a pro composer based out in CA. I haven't submitted this quite yet, so I'd love to get some feedback before I do!

A fluid orchestral piece with a driving introduction and ending.

(Edit: I made the percussion a bit louder, and took some of the reverb away from the solo violin part. Thank you for the reviews!)

Amazing :)

Yes, the percussion does need to be louder. At the moment it's not quite in your face enough.

Melodically and structurally this song was amazing :) I didn't like the sound of some instruments, such as the vioin? at 0:14. It was too loud, and I don't think I like the actual sound itself. Maybe look for a new violin sample/soundfont/synth/etc?

Anyways, all that aside, it's REALLY good. You've got some skills. One of the best composers on NG, clearly.

JeffHeim responds:

Agreed, I'll definitely make revisions with the percussion. Thanks for the second opinion.
Hmm, I'll look through some other soloistic VST's...maybe flute would work better, or perhaps less reverb on the solo violin. I'll tamper with some sounds and see what I can come up with. Thanks again!

I loved this.

Nice layering, a great choice of instruments. This is one of those songs that I wish would have been a little longer; I guess my only suggestion would be making the percussion a little more powerful in spots.

JeffHeim responds:

thanks for the feedback, I'll take note of the percussion needing to be louder. As for the length of it, the guy I'm writing for is looking for cues about 1 minute in length. If that weren't the case I would definitely make this longer. Thanks again, good points!
