This song has been a work in progress since a while ago... I think I wrote this song with the guitarist in my band (The Chevrotains) last winter before it actually started getting shit-ass cold. Sadly, the Chevrotains are no longer fully together; they've got a different drummer, bassist, and guitarist. Regardless though, I'm very glad that I actually got the song done but I'm just sad that we couldn't have written more songs like this.
Credit goes to Blayne Howrie for the vocals, and Sam Bendall for the guitar parts. If it wasn't for Sam, this wouldn't actually have gotten written; it would have remained an unfinished dream...
And now, the lyrics.
Lightbulbs see the life i lead
shining green yellow sweet sugar dreams
the glass protects the golden seed
the eyes observe the life I dream
solar events will always traverse
the things i do without the hurt
while fathers cry and mothers sing
the song her mouth will always dream
[chorus]
My lightbulb friend is here to the end
lighting the skies in my mind
sugar-cane men do not pretend
when they hold lightbulbs they find
so plead with me, feel the light
gather your family and friends
smell and hear the glorious shine of
my close lightbulb friends
become the gauntlet beside the sword
glimmer gray to a brilliant floor
my hands do cloud her bright blue shroud
pulsing thoughts, forever bound
elephant wings do not have feathers
but blue whales tend to find endeavors
keroscene lamps and race-car ramps
depend on the shimmmer to see
[chorus]
lightbulbs snap the life I tramp
conceal a broke-down highway map
the glass destroys our blackened seed
steals my arm and points to me
lunar stars and wind swept cars
fly to my precious home afar
fathers drink and mothers sink, down
into the depths of my heart.
Enjoy Newgrounds, and hopefully Sam and possibly Blayne will be up to record more :) Keep it easy;
