"It's Calm and Lovely"

date: July 10, 2009

I pressed play expecting just another "sob" instrumental/song on Newgrounds, and started thinking it WAS just another sob song until 0:35.

At 0:35, that's when I felt the song's potential to become an amazing, emotional work of art. However, the song felt too repetitive until 2:15 when it sped up. Then it ended on a sour note...

Don't get me wrong though, this song is far from crap, and everyone should still listen to this. The piano felt refreshing, though it did become repetitve. The reverb was excellent. The song expresses sorrow, depression, and sadness with ease. And the song did have its number of moments.

It's a good song, but next time around, make sure that the melody is a little more diverse to keep listeners entertained. And it would be more interesting to start off with another instrument than a piano, unless the piano makes a distinct beat or sound.

"Very relaxing."

I read your PM and came and checked this out, and was glad I did. You did a good job, and anything that could improve this song would be purely opinionated by me.

Has a great melody, just the right length, and I do like the chorus.

"goood work"

date: June 25, 2009

I'm not going to talk about the emotional part of this song but more of the technical part.

Song is not too slow, but the piano is very static. (especially in the beginning and in the bass notes). I like the reverb of it though and the pads are pretty nice. You really could make a trance mix of this if you want XD. Look out that some notes don't collapse (in the pads) try to minimize the sustain on those notes (but if that was on purpose ignore this). The ending is also a bit strange, but really bad...

Overall, really emotional song, good work with the piano and pads, also a drumbeat could fit in it

5/5, 9/10,

Mjattie

"Swell song"

I can see the skill here. Maybe I'm just not in the right mood, but it feels a bit too slow for me.

Gave the impression of a sad song, but there must have been something that made you make this song...
Good job, keep up the good work.
