This is an acoustic cover of Numb which is played by me. The original song was by Linkin Park.

"Good, but not Numb."

date: July 4, 2009

I love Linkin Park, and Numb is one of my favourite songs. However, this is not Numb. The only time it vaguely sounds right is in the chorus. The song is very electronic, so I would say that you should try and just stick to songs made for the guitar or piano. There are plenty of Linkin Park songs that would work, so why did you choose this?

However, it was still a nice song to listen to, if you forget about it being Numb. It's very relaxing. However, even then, the timing bugs me. I'm no guitar expert, but it felt like there were points where you kinda stopped to get the right chord or something, and it didn't feel right.

"Pretty good"

date: July 3, 2009

Pretty good job with this one man, sounded well played. Though I really like your skills on the acoustic guitar, in my opinion you did a pretty good job playing this song, though it seemed like your timing was a little off, otherwise it sounded great. I'm not a big fan of the original song, but this is a pretty good cover of the song, good job here man, 5/5 from me, keep up the good work! :)

"A little repetitive"

To be honest, it sounds rather a simple tune to try on an accoustic guitar. I know that you're capable of better tunes and this may have screwed up your timing slightly. Perhaps more practice is required, just to hit the notes at exactly the right time.

Still, I can't hold the choice of tune solely against you - you need to have something that suits the guitar better, but something with lyrics would certainly help here, as it will distract from any slight imperfections.

"Decent"

date: July 3, 2009

As I pointed out in my reviews on your Pink Floyd cover, I enjoyed the fact you covered the whole song. I think I have listened to this song and to Linkin Park ages ago when I was discovering rock but except from the title, I don't remember it.

On the song now. This is a pretty simple song with very basic chords and progression, as a consequence when you are covering a very simple song you should focus on the little details that make a good song. For instance, the at 0:12 and throughout the song, when you switch from the E minor to C major, you let the low E string ringing and it sounds a bit messy.

It's less obvious than in your Pink Floyd cover but you still have some difficulties to link the chords, though it's better here than in Brain Damages :). Too bad there wasn't vocals and some vocals would have made the song more interesting, but oh well ;).

Overall, good cover again although you can still work on it but keep on practising you are on the right way. Also do you compose?

"Lyrics..."

date: July 1, 2009

I don't know the original, but this was definetly a pretty good song. The recording quality might be a bit low, but I guess that's because you had to record this with a microphone.

The only thing missing here are lyrics. It's nice to listen to how you play the guitar, but that's not enough to satisfy my needs. :P
