Lyrics

Back in the days when communities weren't gated,
When men were men and chicks were subjugated,
When minimum wage was a laughable notion
The corporate man reigned o'er a cheap labour ocean.

The desperate and the weak would come to you
If you just gave them something to do.

Just a meaningless task was all they ever asked
And they would bask in their own uselessness.
These make-work scams were brought down by the man,
But one still stands and that is my business. (That I call...)

Rockshaw!

So due to new laws that protect all the indigent
My target staff is the stupidly innocent;
All the shiftless students, ex-con junkies and the retarded,
Basically the gamut of the human discarded.

You can make these Plebians play their parts
If you you remove their rights and strap 'em to carts.

And they could pull the tourists and the fools
And those who'll lose all respect from their friends.
The passing of liquidity depends on your stupidity
So seek moral lucidity as a means to an end. (A concept that I call...)

Rockshaw!

And you could be working happily
In our industry dependent on stupidity.
And you'll work for me and my facility
And you'll charge high fees despite lack of ability.
(We who are the omnipresent parasite on Toronto's tourism...)

Rockshaw!

The instruments do allright

but the vocals are buggin me. maybes its jus preference.
the chorus has a good feel to it tho. and the second half of the song is shaping up better than the first.

ah well i think it does alright!

TheMaskedJew responds:

Well, I'm glad you've written something, but unfortunately it's impenetrably vague. You make no specific comments on melody, harmony, chord progression or rhythm so I can only assume you actually know nothing about music. If you are enraged by the previous statement, I can only tell you to prove me wrong.
