Get the Pledge.
This track does a great job of being the thing you wanted it to be. Downbeat, melancholy, pensive, and dark. A few things, though:
1. The little scratch or whatever the Hell that was at :27-:29.....get rid of it. That made me want to turn this thing the Hell off right then and there.
2. You need to re-score some of your background work. Some of it is way too dissonant. I know this is probably done in a minor key, but if it stands out over even the scratches and beats, that makes it standout too much.
3. You're a little heavy on the drum and bass. Everything else could be kept the same, but the drums need to be levels down about 18% or so. You can have a great beat (which this is) without the drums standing out like a racist at the Million Man March.
4. I love how you dropped the beat around :27 seconds from the end. That was amazing. Sudden and predictable, but amazing. It was there that your background work and ambient effect tuning (that needed a little work) was the most apparent, but it was incredible. You could even fade those a hair right there, as there isn't a lot going on once the drum and bass go away.
This song works for what it is, but could use some polish.
