After some time, I started to hear for myself what everyone was going on about. The track could use a lot of work. But it's already rendered and everything, so I can't do anything now.....

"i agree"

date: June 8, 2009

with the other guy, some choir vox, would be nice in here, this track seems to lack the bass end a bit

your flutes always have a really good folk-ey feel to them, like i would hear them in the 1500's(probly b4 that actually...)

its good track, description is good for it, although some parts seem to more like pirat-ish in my opinion, not so much plain old swordsman, mabye its becuase when i think swordsman, i think japanese samurai...

good track

5/5

Author's Response:

Yeah, when I came back to this song, I realized that I really should have changed the drums. It's too late now, but I really wish I could change it....

Idk, I always worry about the woodwinds because the soundfonts I have for them are....mediocre at best. I usually try to get past that by loading multiple articulations and using them at different parts.

And I'm glad you said something about the theme, now that I think about it, it does sound really piratish at parts. I might change the name. I was just trying to make a basic level-theme for this game, not really worrying about the specific theme of the song. This song and the song after it have, well, less-than-inspired names for them.

Thanks for voting 5/5 even with the 7/10, personally I usually give a 3 or a 4 whenever I vote seven, so that 5 is very appreciated =)

And sorry I haven't been reviewing lately, I've been working on my tracks and literally working for the past week, imma try to leave a few reviews later tonight though.

Its vary nice but the end and start needs improvement you can make out tat when it ended and looped

June 1, 2009

Author's Response:

That might actually be because of the format. MP3s always have lousy loops no matter what.

The .WAV version of this song has a pretty good loop to it.

Glad you liked it though.

"not bad"

this track is pretty good, but I think you could make it better by adding some choir vocals to it and some deeper powerful drum sounds to it. have stronger breaks in between your transitions. sick how you made this song loop though. keep it up, and think epic!!

Author's Response:

I was thinking about using the grancasa samples I had (really powerful concert bass) all the way through, but I decided not to because I wanted to keep the amount of energy in this song to a limit, otherwise I'd be venturing out of the realm of general video game level music and into the realm of boss music.

That's the same reason I opted not to use choirs in this piece, although the temptation was there.

The transitions were kinda weak though, I'll give you that. Only nearing the end did they kinda recover.

Thanks for taking the time to check out the song and leave a review, I appreciate it much. I'll take these things into consideration for my next song.
