Based on a theme from a previous work of mine. Still needs a decent title, so any suggestions are welcome.

very nice

sounds like an Overture.

And I kept waiting for the Pirates theme to show up. lol.

I likey

Funkypotat0 responds:

Overture: "orchestral music played at the beginning of an opera or oratorio"

That's the technical definition, and if you really think that, then thanks a lot. :D

But unfortunately, no Pirates theme here. Try another piece, :P

really well done

notes:
-beginning reminded me of some of the songs from Pirates 1-3
-early melody sounded a little forced, i think it could be a little smoother. it fit in time, but maybe could have a crescendo thru it or something to make it sound better
-had trouble figuring out the idea of the song, because some parts were mysterious, while others were more heroic or sad. mebbe thats y there's no name yet

Funkypotat0 responds:

Heh, yeah, Pirates :P... I actually borrowed the opening sound from the Superman theme song, but now that I actually hear the opening of Pirates, it does sound awfully similar...

What do you mean by early melody? If you mean the first entrance of the triplet runs by the violins, then yeah, I can see how you think that.

And I don't really think there's much of an idea behind the song. The only thing that really binds everything is the daa-dit-da repetitive sound that you hear from the very start of the piece. Maybe I should go back through and make it more unifying, I dunno. =\

Thanks for the comment. :D

I love pirates.

I agree with penguintj, although the piece reminds me more of pirates. Now I can't stop thinking of pirates.

Funkypotat0 responds:

You mean Pirates of the Caribbean? Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. That's a great piece of music there. Very catchy and epic sounding, I must say. Oh, how I wish I could have written something as good as that... Ah well, thanks for the comment anyway :)

Nice job

I would name it madien voyage because it reminds me of some space themes.

Funkypotat0 responds:

Well, the piece that I based this one off of was called "Legendary Voyage." All my friends hated that, so I tried to shy away from having Voyage in the name.

Thanks for the positive score. :D
