I've been wanting to make this song for the longest time, and now I found the motivation to do it.

I first played Grandia (PSX) around 2005, and fell in love with the story, character, and of course, the music. This track is the main theme to the game.

However, I don't have the guitar line added, because I didn't have any proper VST that would sound proper with this, so once I can find a guitarist that would like to help out, I will update this track with the finished version.

I used EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Gold and Edirol Orchestral to recreate this song.

If you have any other Grandia song requests, just let me know, I'd be glad to recreate them.

Glad to know you liked the song! I'll take a look at those songs you mentioned, and see if I'd be interested.
EDIT: Shit, you're right. Just beat Grandia II for the first time in 7 years, and it's there, plain as day.

"Amazing"

I've played in a state orchestra for somewhere around 6 years and it's honestly a little difficult to tell the difference between this synth symphony and the real deal. The differences are surprisingly subtle. You've encouraged me to take a closer look into Edirol and hopefully I'll be able to make something just a grand. On that note, I think you may have overused that sound in the Orchestra Kit (you know, the one that plays throughout almost the entire length of the song and sounds like multiple high-pitched triangles). Despite that, the rest of the song is fantastic. Your transitions were classic and incredibly professional. I think I loved those flute scales/arpeggios the most. They were by far my favorite part of the song. Plus you showed remarkable prowess in utilizing each individual instrumental section. You definitely have the mind of a conductor and if people knew how damn difficult it is to make good sounding symphonic music, they wouldn't give you anything below a 5.

Author's Response:

You'd be amazed that I almost didn't even use Edirol Orchestral, except maybe for the percussion. Then again, by now, I've got more EWQL goodness for drums. If you want a truly professional sound, I would suggest looking into EWQL Symphonic Orchestra GOLD or PLATINUM, SILVER doesn't have much in it. And I can heavily agree about those triangles, for some reason, when it outputted, they were a lot heavier sounding than when it was still in FL Studio. Mreh, I'll work on this after I'm finished with my Liberi Fatali project. I DID use Edirol for some woodwinds, but I just recently got EWQL for that, like I mentioned, so the quality on this song could really be improved. I'll try updating it sometime once I get around to it. Thanks for the great review!

LOL, you're thinking of Grandia II, not the first one, which this song is from. However, Grandia II is also one of my favorites, so I'll see what I can do about that! Thanks for the review.
