Author Comments

As with most of my tracks, this one started out as a guitar riff. I think it sounds better this way.

Used:
3xOsc
CMT Bitcrusher 1.01 (thanks to MICHhimself for finding it for me)
Stock drum samples in Fruity Loops.

Reviews are appreciated, and I always respond.

"I like this."

I spend a lot of time fiddling with 8 bit stuff.

I like the initial melody, it's got kind of an atonal quirkiness going on. The bitcrushed drums are really successful, I usually make mine out of noise on 3xosc.

The second half of the song is really fun, captures a lot of that classic 'OH NO SOMETHING EXCITING' feel you saw in the games of yore.

"Pretty good."

I saw your thread about the drum samples, but I don't really like them, they could have (and I think should have) been more 8-bitty. Also, I don't know if you purposely avoided reverb, but generally, your music will sound better with even a touch of reverb on them. Composition was good, and the other sounds were very effective.

Author's Response:

Wow, thanks man. I agree that the percussion could have been more chippy, but I'm absolutely new to the genre and still figuring things out.

If feedback keeps being this positive, I'll do more.

Thanks again.
