Author Comments

Hello again, my one or two 'fans'.

This is the second piece I composed for that school project, this one with a more epic orchestral feel. One of the main carriers of the melody here is the horns and low brass (trombones and tuba), thus the title.

I hope you enjoy it, thanks for listening.

Dude you have very nice control here with everything and it flows nicely. It tells a story and i like the different feelings you got here. You back everything up perfectly with strings and you don't just follow the exact melody like most people you actually gave the backing strings their own personality.

Author's Response:

I was thinking of extending this, I couldn't have this as a longer version as it had to fit the time restraints of the video, but I'll consider extending this one, or writing a longer follow up.

"nice quality"

date: May 15, 2009

what do you use to get this sound?

May 15, 2009

Author's Response:

I use the sounds of Garritan Personal Orchestra, and reverb from Altiverb 6. That coupled with choosing the right sound for the instrument (each instrument has several patches, for example I used 3 different horn patches, a ff ensemble for the main section, a f ensemble for backing horns, and a solo horn for the chord buildup in the middle) gives me the sound you hear.

Thanks for the review.
