The second of two songs my band Cherenkov Drive recorded recently at the Depot Studios in Edinburgh. I'm on the drums; we got this down on the first take. This one was written by the guitarist Cameron.

You can check out our upcoming gigs in the Edinburgh area at myspace.com/cherenkovdriv e (no spaces ofc).

Enjoy, any reviews are appreciated...except ones from drummers telling me how terrible I am (I already know ffs!) :P!

"innit"

opening guitar too compressed, reminds me massively of early idlewild, hope that aint a slight but it is. I know, coming from me especially, your dirty rhtyhm...it's too dirty, in that it dominates the track. But by joe, what a track. and ur on drums u say. fuck me. its missing a touch of subtlety, you need more licks earlier. the vocalist is briliant. your drums are exquisite (sp?). now this isnt 10/10 for a few arbitrary reasons, the middle 8 redeems alot of the minor faults, i just feel there could be more space afforded for each musician to express himself, it's 7/10 compared to it's genre 10/10 on here.

"Good stuff!"

Song construction is solid, man. Head-bobbin' rhythm, guitars aren't too showoff-ish (big plus in my book), good driving bassline, and (contrary to what you say) the drums lay down great jam rhythm.

Vocals are indeed good, and I love the overall the grungy sound. Pump out summore =)

Author's Response:

Yo dude thanks for the uberfast review! This was a live recording done on the first take so there are some minor problems (too much crash cymbal, muddy bass) but overall I think we were able to whip this out pretty fast to a pretty good standard. I do like the song, its our final song at gigs and it seems to round things off nicely for the audience.

Glad you liked the song and thanks a lot for the review :)
