This is a new perspective on the Masquerade scene in the theater production Phantom of the Opera. This piece was written for a novel in progress of that story. Or rather a retelling of it.

This piece contains a lot of orchestration in all forms, including a pipe organ at the end.

"very very unique"

date: November 20, 2009

i like your violin? solo at 4:10, sounds extremely exotic, kinda of gypsy like = im assuming it is a referrence to the phantom's childhood.

the bass, being played by the lower brass, could use a bit more omph, and variation. for instance, making the the 2nd beat longer and the third shorter. or accents. and try arpeggios instead of the same notes.
making the bass a much more unique and involved part really makes a big difference.

what are you using to record/create this?

good job!

"Stunning!"

date: September 15, 2009

I have absolutely fallen in love with this piece! (actually I became a member here just to be able write this)

The emotion is overwhelming! It's so sad, but still it hangs on to the slight hope that shows once in a while... I would have loved to hear this with a real orchestra sometime!

As for the piano... *runs of to learn the pianopart herself* I love to play waltzes and this one is beautiful!

"Very moody and soulful"

date: August 19, 2009

Slick production value, very nice work. Piano could be slightly more expressive, but that's totally minor. (no pun intended)

String entrance sounds ever so slightly synthy.

Lilting godfather style section was especially good. Woodwinds sound very realistic.

Looking forward to hearing more of your stuff, adding to favs.
