Mandi's Dream - The Bazaar
The light of the constantly dusky sun beamed faintly through sepia brown clouds, a warm chocolate glow emitting from the alabaster stones that made up this strange exotic place. Hiding behind a corner, I gazed at what They were, and how They could possibly have lived. They had a bazaar...
Feeling brave, I approached with caution, hearing them speak in unheard of tongues, their accents thick and gutteral with heavily rolling R's. Like any bazaar, the people within it were chattering at once, a dull roar of their melodic voices erupting throughout this one little area. These people... They were not like people I have ever seen.
They were all tall and very lean, their muscles prominent but small and long. Their skin was very dark, nearly black, and very oily. It seemed to have a strange spectacular golden shine to it, almost like an aura. Their features were chiseled, symmetric, all of them unique but nearly perfect as well. They were the most beautiful people I had ever laid eyes upon. They wore loose but little clothing, merely white gauzes and togas, some women wearing unusually-fashioned white dresses. I wondered to myself, are these people real angels?
Some stopped to look at me strangely, almost accusingly, and turned their backs on me. Others seemed to pretend to ignore me as they pushed by through the crowd. It must have been strange to see a strange unfamiliar face in such a secluded place like this... Feeling self conscious, I scuttled through, wanting to go back into hiding now that they'd seen me. Something about them made me lust for their approval, and having been looked down felt like nearly a crushing blow. I found a grand pillar amongst identical supports to it, disappearing behind it to watch them still from afar. Perhaps I had made it to El Dorado... perhaps this was the real Heaven... Who could say for certain? But I knew right then and there that this was not where I belonged.
